FAQ
Common questions
Why does my link share as plain text with no image?
Missing Open Graph tags — og:image especially. Platforms read those meta tags to build the preview card; without them they fall back to guesses or nothing. Links with image cards get dramatically more engagement than bare URLs, so this is worth ten minutes to fix.
What size should my og:image be?
1200\u00d7630 pixels is the safe universal size — sharp on Facebook and LinkedIn and compatible with X's large summary card. Keep critical content centered, under about 1MB, and remember platforms crop differently at the edges.
I fixed my tags but the old preview still shows — why?
Platforms cache share previews aggressively. Force a refresh with Facebook's Sharing Debugger, LinkedIn's Post Inspector, or by appending a dummy query string to the URL when testing. Caches typically expire on their own within days to weeks.
