Image compressor
Oversized images are the #1 reason small-business websites load slowly. Shrink JPG, PNG and WebP files right here in your browser — with a quality slider, optional resizing and zero uploads.
100% private: compression happens entirely in your browser using the canvas API. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
How to use
Three steps, ten seconds
- 01
Choose your images
Pick one or many JPG, PNG or WebP files. They are read locally — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
- 02
Set quality and size
Drag the quality slider, optionally cap the width (1600px suits most sites), and pick an output format — WebP is usually smallest.
- 03
Compress and download
See the before/after size and percentage saved for every file, then download each compressed image individually.
FAQ
Common questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No — that is the whole point of this tool. Compression happens inside your browser using the built-in canvas API. Your photos never leave your device, which makes it safe for client work, product shots and anything private. It also means there is no file-size upload limit to fight with.
What quality setting should I use?
For photos on a website, 70–80% quality is the sweet spot — the size drops dramatically and almost nobody can spot the difference. Combine it with a max width of 1600–2000px (few site layouts display anything wider) and most phone photos shrink by 80–90%.
Why did my PNG barely shrink, or even get bigger?
PNG is lossless, so the quality slider does not apply to it — only resizing helps. For photos saved as PNG, choose “Convert to WebP” or “Convert to JPEG” in the output format menu: same picture, a fraction of the size. Keep PNG only for logos and graphics that need transparency.
