Common questions
How are the passwords generated?
Passwords are built entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), the same cryptographically secure random source used by password managers. Nothing is generated on, or sent to, a server — no one else ever sees your password.
What makes a password strong?
Two things: length and variety. Every extra character multiplies the number of possible combinations, and mixing uppercase, lowercase, digits and symbols grows the character pool. The strength meter measures this as entropy in bits — aim for 70+ bits (roughly 14+ mixed characters) for important accounts.
Is it safe to use an online password generator?
This one, yes — generation happens locally on your device and the page never transmits the result. For long-term safety, store generated passwords in a reputable password manager rather than reusing them, and use a unique password for every account.
